Ethiopia Urges GAC JUNTU to Launch Local EV Manufacturing

At the launch of the GAC JUNTU showroom, Ethiopia's Transport Minister called on the company to establish local assembly and manufacturing capacity, citing the government's broader push toward industrialisation and green mobility.

The vehicles introduced feature high-capacity batteries with long-range capability, meeting five-star safety standards recognised in both China and Europe — part of a wider shift as Ethiopia moves away from fuel-powered vehicle imports.
